spending time with positive people

Look around you and find the ones who are always happy! There are several benefits of spending time with positive people and they’ll help you grow beautifully.

“When you are feeling happy, and you keep feeling happy, then only happy people, circumstances, and events can come into your life. If you feel stressed, then only more stress can come into your life through people, circumstances, and events.” ― Rhonda Byrne

As I finished reading ‘The Secret’ by Rhonda Bryne, I started believing that energy is everything and the universe would truly respond to us through our energy.

The frequency of energy flows from person to person, as it does between everything else – from cell to cell, from atom to atom, from one particle to another.

Considering this eternal truth, you’d observe that when you’re around happy and positive people, you’d feel a high vibrational frequency of joy and love within yourself. On the contrary, if you’re around negative people, you’d feel anxious, sad, or insecure.

Take a minute and think, don’t you feel good when you’re surrounded by friends who make you laugh?

Doesn’t it feel good to be with the coworker who always motivates you to achieve your goal? – Exactly, that’s what I mean when I say that being with happy & positive people will benefit you.

For a better living, we should try to spend more time with positive people who help in uplifting us and generates a sense of compassion & well-being.

Benefits of spending time with positive people:

1. Our company defines us.

To put it in the words of an American entrepreneur and motivational speaker Jim Rohn, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with“.

We always tend to become like those who are the closest to us. Consciously or unconsciously, we pick up certain traits from those who surround us and imbibe them in our lives, making everything fall in sync.

If you take a closer look at your family, friends, and coworkers, you’d notice that there’s something in each of them that touches your heart.

Being with like-minded people makes a conversation easier and insightful. There’s always a reason why some people are closer to you and some are not.

And if you ever feel that you are not enjoying someone’s company, you can either let them know or just drift apart.

2. Happiness is contagious!

When you’re around a happy person, you’d generally tend to feel happy. That’s because happiness is contagious and a study conducted by Harvard Medical School and the University of California, San Diego found, “Happiness is a collective phenomenon that spreads through social networks like an emotional contagion.”

If you ever feel low in life or find yourself in a situation where nothing feels right, try and get in touch with someone who feels like sunshine – someone with whom you always feel good, and understand how they nurture their own happiness.

Spending time with positive people will help you to deal with your own complexities and motivate you to look at the world differently.

3. Sharing smiles and laughter is good for our mental health.

Being with positive people will always make you smile, no matter what. Those who are happy and contented with themselves naturally spread the fragrance of goodness.

You are more likely to laugh around positive people than when you’re in a negative surrounding or maybe, alone.

In life, the more laughter you bring, the happier you would feel. when you spend time with fun-loving and playful people, you’d realize that they can laugh easily both at themselves and at life’s absurdities.

They tend to routinely find humor in everyday events, without feeling suppressed by the monotony of daily chores.

Needless to say, sharing smiles & laughing out loud with others helps in keeping our minds healthy.

4. Fewer gossips and lesser complaints!

We know that life isn’t a cakewalk and everyone has their own shares of hardships & struggles.

But if you are around positive people, you’d notice that they don’t complain much about the challenges – in fact, they tend to take everything cheerfully and deal with it in a rather peaceful manner.

Positive people avoid gossiping about others. They don’t spend much time & energy pondering over what’s going on in someone else’s life.

Rather, they’re self-saturated and happy in their own skin, focusing on their well-being and doing things they love.

When you spend more time with such people, you’d also realize that comparing yourself with others will just bring you insecurities and unhappiness – instead, if you look within and focus on self-growth, you’ll bloom as a better human being.

You can almost feel your spirits lifting up when you’re around someone who’s willing to see the good in everything.

5. Nurtures our creativity.

When you surround yourself with positive and happy people, your mind will be more open to indulge in creative thoughts.

A negative environment blocks the creative flow in us. making our minds feel imprisoned. On the other hand, creativity helps us to look at problems differently and solve them innovatively & openly.

Being around positive people generally broadens our perspectives and helps us in overcoming our prejudices.

Creativity in everyday life will increase your overall sense of well-being and thus, you’d also learn to find happiness in little things of life.
